Spiritual Energy Revival (11):

Zhou Qinghao was a little distracted when he saw the wontons Gu Juntian brought out.

During this period, his foster father had been personally cooking for him every day. Were these meals really without problem?

He had been observing his foster father. His foster father’s attitude toward others hadn’t changed, only toward him had there been a dramatic shift in such a short time.

Unless something unexpected happened, the person his foster father intended to seize was him.

The reason his foster father had been so good to him lately was for the sake of his body.

This left Zhou Qinghao a little dejected, though he could understand his foster father.

His foster father had given so much to the Bureau of Demon Control. Now, not only did he endure pain daily, but his life was also near its end—it was only natural he couldn’t accept it.

In truth, giving his body to his foster father to use would be the best solution.

He didn’t want his foster father to seize anyone else.

First, harming the innocent was wrong. Second… he was afraid that something might go wrong in the process of seizing someone else.

But if the person his foster father seized was him, he would do his best to cooperate.

By then, his foster father would have his body, the best talent, and the greatest power, and would surely return to his former self, taking his place to protect the Bureau of Demon Control and the nation.

When he heard Gu Juntian say he had something to tell him, Zhou Qinghao spoke: “Foster father, please go ahead.”

Gu Juntian was straightforward: “Qinghao, I like men.”

“Foster father?” Zhou Qinghao stared at him in surprise.

Gu Juntian said, “Qinghao, I like you.”

Although Zhou Qinghao had been sticking closely to him these days—even sneaking in at night—Gu Juntian had never felt it was like a romance.

Between them, there was always something like a barrier. Zhou Qinghao still called him “foster father” with every word.

He really didn’t want to hear Zhou Qinghao call him that anymore.

So, he decided to confess quickly.

At first, Gu Juntian had planned to bring up Zhou Qinghao’s nightly actions, then naturally express his feelings, but that would only make Zhou Qinghao embarrassed.

So he gave up on that idea.

He had fallen for Zhou Qinghao at first sight anyway—there was no need for excuses, he would just confess directly.

Thinking so, Gu Juntian continued, “Qinghao, I only recently realized that I like you. You know that I was gravely injured seven years ago. Now my face has aged, my health is poor. Looking like this, I shouldn’t be confessing to you, but I still want to tell you my feelings.”

Confessing with such a face, Gu Juntian felt a lot of pressure.

Right now, he was practically like an old lecher coveting a youth!

With that thought, he quickly added, “Qinghao, you don’t need to feel pressured. I don’t expect to be with you, I just don’t want to have regrets.”

But those words rang false.

With Zhou Qinghao, he was determined to succeed!

Zhou Qinghao stared at Gu Juntian in a daze, not understanding why he would suddenly confess.

He had tested him before—Gu Juntian liked women. How could he suddenly like men?

Recently, he hadn’t done anything in particular to please his foster father either.

Wait… he had entered his foster father’s room a few times lately, and in moments of agitation, had kissed him.

He thought he had been careful, but maybe his foster father knew.

Zhou Qinghao suddenly realized that while his foster father’s attitude had improved before, he hadn’t shown intimacy. But these past days had been different.

If one set aside their foster father–son relationship, his foster father’s behavior clearly looked like courtship.

To increase the chance of a successful seizure, spending time closely together was best. His foster father must have noticed his feelings, and so confessed.

Zhou Qinghao looked deeply at his foster father. “Foster father, I like you too.”

Gu Juntian had already known his confession would succeed, but getting a definite answer still lifted his mood.

Seeing his foster father’s expression, Zhou Qinghao became even more certain of his suspicions.

Before confessing, his foster father had already been sure he would agree.

Still, he went along with his foster father’s script: “Foster father, I like men too. I’ve always liked you.”

Hearing that, Gu Juntian almost wanted to kiss Zhou Qinghao.

But… would that be too much?

While he hesitated, Zhou Qinghao suddenly stood up and kissed him.

No wonder this was the person who dared sneak into his room at night to kiss him—Zhou Qinghao was bold!

Gu Juntian, with his old face, “reluctantly” accepted the kiss, his heart secretly overjoyed.

Zhou Qinghao didn’t know what Gu Juntian was thinking.

At that moment, he completely let go.

His foster father wanted his body—he was willing to give it.

His life had been saved by his foster father. Without him, he would already be dead.

But since he was going to die soon anyway, he wanted to enjoy himself before that.

With that thought, Zhou Qinghao parted his foster father’s lips with his tongue.

Gu Juntian vaguely felt something was wrong.

Zhou Qinghao was rather forceful… could it be that he was the dominant one?

If Zhou Qinghao really wanted to do something to him, in his current state he couldn’t resist at all!

Gu Juntian took a deep breath and pushed him away. “Qinghao, it’s about time. I need to work.”

“Foster father, it’s still early,” Zhou Qinghao replied.

The Bureau’s working hours began at nine in the morning. As the director, no one really controlled his foster father—so long as he maintained order in the country, not going in was fine too.

In fact, seven years ago, the Bureau didn’t even have a director. It was his foster father who got the reports, then sent others to handle incidents, or handled them himself.

“Things have been a bit busy lately,” Gu Juntian said.

Zhou Qinghao noticed his foster father was avoiding him.

He probably couldn’t accept such intimacy.

But Zhou Qinghao wanted it.

Before, he could only sneak kisses. Now that his foster father had confessed, he could act openly.

His foster father’s evasiveness stirred other thoughts in Zhou Qinghao. He looked at him seriously and said, “Foster father, I know your body isn’t well. I have a way to improve it.”

“What way?” Gu Juntian asked.

“Foster father, we can dual cultivate—or you can absorb my energy,” Zhou Qinghao said.

Gu Juntian drew a deep breath, feeling overwhelmed.

This was moving too fast!

Seeing his shocked face, Zhou Qinghao immediately said, “Foster father, let’s try tonight.”

“Qinghao, I’m already so old, this matter…” Gu Juntian hesitated.

Shouldn’t Zhou Qinghao think this through? With the way he looked now, Zhou Qinghao still wanted him?

But Zhou Qinghao was firm: “If foster father can’t, then I’ll take the lead.”

“I can!” Gu Juntian declared.

A man couldn’t admit to being incapable—of course he could!

And from Zhou Qinghao’s words, it sounded like he would get to take the initiative.

Gu Juntian secretly sighed in relief, though it still felt fast.

But this only showed how much Zhou Qinghao really liked him.

He had even suggested dual cultivation before, and now was willing to let him absorb his energy.

That was true love!

Gu Juntian was moved.

“Foster father, about the techniques for dual cultivation or energy absorption…”

Gu Juntian coughed lightly. “Forget absorption. At most, dual cultivation. I’ll look into the methods later.”

How could he absorb from Zhou Qinghao? Even if Zhou Qinghao’s Heavenly Spirit body meant the damage would be minor, it wasn’t necessary.

Dual cultivation was enough.

Before, he had thought recovery would take a long time, but with dual cultivation, it should be much faster.

Still, he would need to research the techniques.

Zhou Qinghao wasn’t surprised by the answer.

His foster father still wanted his body, so of course he wouldn’t drain him.

As for dual cultivation… Gu Juntian might make excuses to delay, but eventually he would agree.

He believed his foster father would consent in the end.

Dual cultivation would make their bond much closer, and help his foster father seize his body.

Speaking of which, he might already have consumed the Netherworld Stone Milk, leaving his soul injured.

But damage to the soul was hard to sense—so he didn’t know.

With those thoughts, Zhou Qinghao slowly finished the wontons his foster father had made, then went to wash the dishes.

Gu Juntian watched his back at the sink, a little moved.

This tender grass—he had gotten to taste it so quickly. Truly surprising.

Since he had said he was busy, he went early to the office.

Zhou Qinghao followed as usual, finding a place to sit in the office.

Planning to take some time to research dual cultivation techniques, Gu Juntian glanced at the handsome, cold-faced Zhou Qinghao meditating nearby, feeling both uneasy and expectant.

Gu Juntian’s mood was complicated all day, until finally, evening arrived.

They ate dinner while it was still light out. After cleaning up the kitchen, Gu Juntian grew restless.

Zhou Qinghao noticed and said, “Foster father, let’s dual cultivate.”

“Qinghao, I haven’t found a suitable method yet…” Gu Juntian thought it could be postponed.

“I have a very good technique,” Zhou Qinghao said. “It was given to me by a Foundation Establishment cultivator of the Xuan Sect. We can try it.”

“My techniques are good too. Let’s compare and refine them together before we start?” Gu Juntian suggested.

“Foster father, I like you. I worry about your health.” Zhou Qinghao looked at him intently. “You like me too, so you must understand my concern.”

Zhou Qinghao’s eyes were filled with worry.

Not wanting him to be sad, Gu Juntian finally agreed. “Then let’s begin… with me leading, alright?”

“I’ll listen to foster father,” Zhou Qinghao said without objection.

Gu Juntian finally relaxed completely.

Zhou Qinghao really loved him, willing to do anything for him!
