Interstellar president (10): It is not easy to make Gu Juntian love him.

The researchers in Gu Juntian’s laboratory were all recruited by Cao Bo.

Others might not know, but he did—many of these people were far from ordinary.

Take Clement for example. He possessed numerous skills and techniques. In order to recruit Clement, Cao Bo not only paid over ten million in breach-of-contract fees for him but also gave him a signing bonus of ten million.

After that, they had to pay Clement an annual salary of two million, and the contract was directly signed for ten years.

Whether it was Clement or Qin Zhao, both had the ability to establish their own independent laboratories, yet now, they all followed Gu Juntian’s lead.

The others in the lab also followed Gu Juntian.

Even though Cao Bo didn’t understand scientific research, he knew what this meant.

Gu Juntian might really be capable of making breakthroughs.

Cao Bo went shopping again and sent the bill to Zhou Qinghao.

Zhou Qinghao glanced at the bill and suddenly realized that, in the last year of his life, he couldn’t just do nothing and simply enjoy life.

If he did that, after he passed away, Gu Juntian might go bankrupt due to his obsession with research and end up destitute.

He needed to leave more money for Gu Juntian to prevent him from going bankrupt.

At first, Zhou Qinghao had planned to donate all his company shares to the state. But now… he had to leave some of the shares to Gu Juntian’s lab.

With annual dividends from the company, the lab would be able to keep running.

After calculating his assets, Zhou Qinghao transferred 500 million to Gu Juntian’s lab, then got back to work.

Without Gu Juntian around, he didn’t feel like doing anything else, so he might as well focus on work.

During the day, Gu Juntian and Zhou Qinghao each focused on their own tasks. At night, they would have dinner together, bathe together, and sleep together.

In the blink of an eye, ten days had passed.

It had been half a month since Gu Juntian arrived in this world.

And by this time, investigators had already found the private lab controlled by Zhou Jinhai and launched a full investigation.

They quickly discovered that the lab indeed had serious problems.

The person who had received the report from “Zhou Qinghao” learned of this and was preparing to take down the entire lab in one sweep, but suddenly felt that something was off.

His instincts told him he couldn’t act rashly.

He went back to review the report and the findings from his team’s investigation. As he studied them, he realized something.

There was no way a lab like that could exist in the capital star for so long without anyone noticing—unless it had powerful backing.

Who was behind this lab?

If he moved to shut down the lab, would he alert the people behind the scenes?

He had to proceed cautiously and also keep a close watch on everyone in that lab to prevent them from fleeing once they caught wind of what was happening.

Gu Juntian wasn’t aware of any of this.

At the moment, he had just completed a set of experiments.

Rubbing his dry eyes, Gu Juntian walked a few steps outside and got down to do push-ups.

Qin Zhao and the others were no longer surprised by this behavior.

Gu Juntian was a highly self-disciplined person. Not only did he keep a healthy and regular work schedule, but he also made time to exercise.

When the researchers were tired and needed to rest, they would usually just collapse on the couch and not move. But Gu Juntian was different.

He would do all kinds of exercises during breaks, and the one he did most often was push-ups.

Out of curiosity, they had once asked Gu Juntian why he did this.

Gu Juntian said that only with a strong body could one have abundant energy, and only with abundant energy could one conduct long hours of research.

In scientific research, it often takes months or even years to achieve results.

If someone’s health is poor, they won’t be able to hold on until the end. That’s why physical condition is extremely important.

Qin Zhao and the others deeply agreed. Now, whenever they had free time, they would exercise just like Gu Juntian.

Even if it was just doing ten push-ups or one minute of jumping jacks.

And every time they exercised, they would feel admiration for Gu Juntian.

Young people really had strong bodies—Gu Juntian did at least a hundred push-ups every time.

“Teacher, I’m having a bit of trouble over here…” Qin Zhao sat down next to Gu Juntian and began telling him about his issue. He also projected some documents in front of Gu Juntian for him to look at.

Gu Juntian discussed the problem with him while doing push-ups.

When he felt like he had used up his strength, Gu Juntian flipped over and sat down beside him to continue the discussion.

As they talked, the communication device on Gu Juntian’s wrist started vibrating.

He glanced at the time and said to Qin Zhao, “It’s time to get off work. We’ll continue tomorrow.”

Qin Zhao asked, “Teacher, weren’t you eager to get results? Why not stay in the lab a little longer?”

Every day at lunch, the researchers had hearty meals, but Gu Juntian only ate nutrient paste.

Though he insisted on exercising, it was always squeezed into short breaks, and each session lasted only a few minutes.

Qin Zhao could tell that he was eager to achieve results quickly.

But still, he left work on time.

And it wasn’t because he was physically unable—Gu Juntian was in excellent health and could easily work three to four more hours every day.

“People need to balance work and rest,” Gu Juntian said.

“But Teacher, you never actually rest. Even when eating your nutrient paste at noon, you’re reading through data.”

Gu Juntian looked at Qin Zhao and said, “Then I’ll tell you the truth. I’m going home to spend time with my sponsor.”

Qin Zhao paused for a moment, then remembered Zhou Qinghao.

Recently, Gu Juntian had been so brilliant that he had forgotten about Gu Juntian being Zhou Qinghao’s little lover.

Now that he remembered, Qin Zhao admired Gu Juntian even more.

Gu Juntian was already busy with research during the day, and at night he was working hard to secure funding for them.

During this time, their lab had spent a great deal of money, yet Zhou Qinghao continued to give his full support—and it was all thanks to Gu Juntian.

Gu Juntian was truly incredible!

Qin Zhao escorted Gu Juntian to the lab entrance. “Teacher, please take care of your health.”

Gu Juntian replied, “I know, I exercise every day.”

As they spoke, they arrived at the lab entrance.

The lab had rules—aside from Gu Juntian, no researchers were allowed to leave. So Qin Zhao stayed behind while Gu Juntian walked out.

As soon as Gu Juntian stepped outside, he saw a familiar face.

The original owner’s ex-boyfriend, Ning Jianuo.

After breaking up with Gu Juntian, Ning Jianuo hadn’t been doing well.

He had thought that after dumping Gu Juntian, he could become Zhou Yan’s boyfriend and start living the life he had always dreamed of.

But to his surprise, only a few days later, the once-passionate Zhou Yan suddenly began ignoring him.

He tried to find Zhou Yan, but couldn’t.

And that wasn’t the worst part—checking Zhou Yan’s social media accounts, he could see that Zhou Yan was still eating, drinking, and having fun as usual, living carefree.

Ning Jianuo wasn’t stupid. He realized Zhou Yan didn’t want him anymore.

Before, Zhou Yan had passionately pursued him, urging him to break up with Gu Juntian. But right after the breakup, Zhou Yan discarded him.

Was he just played by Zhou Yan?

Ning Jianuo was furious, but the gap in status between him and Zhou Yan was too great—he could do nothing about it.

Even if he exposed Zhou Yan online… the two of them were just in a relationship, and then Zhou Yan wanted to break up. There was nothing he could really blame Zhou Yan for.

In fact, since he had a boyfriend when he first got involved with Zhou Yan, he might even be the one harshly criticized.

Ning Jianuo could only accept his misfortune and turned to contact Gu Juntian.

But he couldn’t reach Gu Juntian at all, and discovered that Gu Juntian had quit his job and moved to a new place.

Ning Jianuo cursed Gu Juntian, thinking he was too heartless—and it was at that moment that he received a message.

The person who messaged him told him that Gu Juntian was now working in a lab in the experimental research park.

That person even gave him some money—told him to go find Gu Juntian.

Ning Jianuo didn’t know why that person wanted him to go, but the guy had given him fifty thousand!

So today, Ning Jianuo waited early at the lab’s entrance, and the moment Gu Juntian walked out, he rushed at him: “Gu Juntian!”

Gu Juntian dodged to the side immediately, and at the same time, the security robot at the lab entrance subdued Ning Jianuo. The security staff asked, “Who are you? What do you want?”

They had already been watching Ning Jianuo and had scanned him with a robot.

Since he wasn’t carrying any weapons and looked thin and weak, they hadn’t thought much of him—but unexpectedly, he suddenly lunged at Gu Juntian!

You have to know, Secretary Cao had repeatedly emphasized they must keep a close eye on things and not let any flirty distractions near Gu Juntian!

There were twenty researchers in the lab, and Gu Juntian was by far the most handsome and youngest. Among the others, even the middle-aged and haggard-looking Qin Zhao would be considered decent-looking. None could be called flirty distractions.

But the person in front of them—definitely counted!

“I’m Gu Juntian’s boyfriend! Let me go! Juntian, save me!” Ning Jianuo shouted toward Gu Juntian.

Gu Juntian said, “He’s not my boyfriend. I have nothing to do with him.”

With that, Gu Juntian got into the waiting car beside him and ordered, “Increase speed—go home.”

He had been delayed a bit today, so the car needed to go faster than usual!

Without looking back, Gu Juntian left. Ning Jianuo stood there, dumbfounded.

The lab security didn’t release him. They first reported the situation to Cao Bo.

Still being restrained, Ning Jianuo started to panic. “I really didn’t mean any harm! I just came to find Gu Juntian! I’m his ex-boyfriend—we broke up less than a month ago…”

Cao Bo, who was speaking to security staff at the time: “…” According to what he knew, Gu Juntian and their President Zhou had also only been together for less than a month.

President Zhou had specifically instructed them to report situations like this immediately… So Cao Bo sent the surveillance footage from the lab entrance to Zhou Qinghao and asked, “President Zhou, should we investigate this person?”

Zhou Qinghao had already gone home early.

He happened to be free, so he looked at the footage Cao Bo sent him right away.

After a quick glance, he replied, “No need to investigate him. Just don’t let this person near Gu Juntian again.”

He knew that Gu Juntian didn’t dislike him—you could tell just from his physical reactions.

But hoping that Gu Juntian would love him? That was unnecessary.

On the very first day they met, he had pulled Gu Juntian into bed. In Gu Juntian’s eyes, who knew what kind of person he appeared to be. To make Gu Juntian fall in love with him—that wasn’t going to be easy.

All he wanted was for Gu Juntian not to leave him before he died.

Zhou Qinghao deleted the message and surveillance footage from Cao Bo, acting as though he knew nothing about the matter.

When Gu Juntian’s car stopped at the gate and he stepped inside, Zhou Qinghao looked at him and gave him a gentle smile.

“Qinghao!” Gu Juntian strode over to Zhou Qinghao and kissed him.

He had really missed Zhou Qinghao!
