AI Crisis (2): Robot Boyfriend

“Ding dong, ding dong…”

The doorbell of Tan Xiao’s house rang. Who could be visiting at this time?

A colleague from work, or an editor?

The robot went to open the door, and the delivery robot from Fei Niao Express announced: “Fei Niao Express. Is this Jihua Garden, Unit 188, Mr. You Hongru? You have a package that has arrived. Please sign for it promptly.”

The delivery robot, shaped like a cute white dove, the mascot of Fei Niao Group, had a very gentle and pleasant voice.

The white dove’s voice was reportedly modeled after a federal-level celebrity from District 1, a voice that both men and women, young and old, would find warm and trustworthy.

Indeed, delivery jobs had largely been taken over by custom robots from major delivery companies. These robots were efficient, emotionally stable, had pleasant voices, and were designed to be cute and non-threatening, ensuring customer privacy.

“I am You Hongru, but I haven’t ordered any packages recently.”

As an original artist, Tan Xiao naturally had his own online pseudonym and pen name. At work, he used the pen name “Feng Sheng,” derived from the phrase “laughing and chatting, thriving and prospering,” which was considered auspicious.

However, the copyright for the artworks produced under the name “Feng Sheng” belonged to the company. So, for his private side gigs, Tan Xiao used the name “You Hongru,” derived from the phrase “laughing with scholars, interacting with no commoners.”

If the package had been sent by a colleague, the recipient’s name should have been “Feng Sheng,” not “You Hongru.”

Moreover, he glanced at the size of the package. It was roughly two meters long and one meter wide—a box large enough to fit a person.

Tan Xiao had no intention of taking advantage of the situation. In any era, free things often came with hidden costs. This could very well be one of those “cash on delivery” scams that had been circulating online recently, where signing for the package would force him to buy something expensive and useless.

Tan Xiao refused to accept the package. He said to the dove-shaped delivery robot, “This isn’t something I ordered. Please return it.”

“Understood. Processing your request. Checking package information now.”

The delivery robot’s eyes flashed red as it scanned the package information, then said, “After verification, this package is a prize you won in an online draw. You do not need to pay any additional fees. Please sign for it promptly.”

The delivery robot repeatedly confirmed with Tan Xiao: “Do you still wish to return this package through the original channels?”

“Wait a moment, let me check.” Indeed, free things don’t just fall from the sky, but if it was a prize he had won, that was a different story. After all, he had put in the effort to browse, filter posts, and even follow accounts to participate in the draw. Winning a prize through his own luck couldn’t be considered unearned.

Tan Xiao looked again at the large, rectangular package, which looked like it could fit a coffin. The packaging had a large logo that read “KK Smart Company”

[KK Smart Company is a technology company under the CS Group, with over 200 years of history. During multiple wars, KK Smart Company spun off from a subsidiary and grew into a robotics giant. The company specializes in nanny and companion robots, particularly its classic Love Series companion robots, which have received widespread acclaim.]

In this era of human coldness, most people have given up on marriage but still desire companionship. Thus, they opt to customize companion robots to their preferences.

Indeed, if you include the sleep pod, a high-end intelligent robot would justify such a large box.

Tan Xiao searched through his “You Hongru” social media account for related records. Most of the giveaways he had reposted were for cash, art supplies, or everyday items. There was nothing about companion robots.

Since Tan Xiao had never considered such a thing, he naturally hadn’t reposted any KK Smart Company giveaways. However, last month, KK Smart Company had run a promotional event in a linked game when they released a new product.

At the time, Tan Xiao had diligently filled out a survey while playing the game. The survey had a built-in lottery function, and the top prize was apparently a companion robot. He never expected such a low-probability event to land on him. This was even more unbelievable than a pie falling from the sky.

The “You Hongru” account had indeed received a private message from the official group three days ago: “Congratulations! You have won our prize, the latest companion robot. If you do not wish to receive the prize, you may opt for a cash equivalent. Otherwise, the prize will be sent by default.”

“If there are no objections, we will send the prize to your default address. Our product comes with a complimentary sleep pod. We hope you enjoy the experience.”

Tan Xiao hadn’t read the private message, and his account had an automatic reply feature, so the other party had assumed he wanted the prize instead of the cash equivalent.

Tan Xiao immediately asked, “If I return the item now, can I still choose the cash equivalent?”

The official KK Smart Company service account quickly replied, “Dear customer, no, you cannot. This robot is a custom-made companion tailored to your survey responses. Each customer’s companion robot has a unique serial number and appearance. If you do not wish to keep this companion, we can provide free pickup and disposal services, but a cash equivalent is no longer possible.”

Tan Xiao looked up the value of the latest robot model: 188,888 Spirit Coins, equivalent to half a year’s salary for him. Thinking about the fortune that had slipped through his fingers, he felt a pang of heartache.

Finally, a pie falls from the sky, but it was not to his taste.

Well, even if he didn’t need this thing, it was still free. As for selling it second-hand online, Tan Xiao briefly considered the idea but ultimately decided against it.

Custom-made items usually sell for much less second-hand because everyone’s tastes and preferences are different.

Selling it brand new at a low price felt like a loss. Moreover, KK Smart Company’s customer service had said that this was a companion robot customized to his preferences. He couldn’t remember what he had filled out in that survey or if he had randomly checked some boxes.

What if he sold it, and the buyer thought he was some kind of pervert? Tan Xiao was a decent person and didn’t want to expose his private preferences in public. So he said, “Yes, this is mine. I’ll sign for it now.”

He scanned his face on the electronic panel to confirm.

Once the package was confirmed as received, the white dove said, “Your package has been successfully signed for by the recipient. If you are satisfied with my service, please give White Dove a 5-star rating. Coo, coo, coo.”

Tan Xiao, being a good-natured person, cooperatively gave the delivery dove a full 5-star rating.

Tan Xiao began dragging his package inside. The robot and the sleep pod were heavy.

“Let me help.”

A plump, outdated nanny robot, fully charged, eagerly approached.

Three years ago, when Tan Xiao was kicked out of his family home, the only thing that came with him was his childhood nanny robot, Xiao Bai. After all, the wealthy couple was too busy with their careers to care for him, so the nanny robot had essentially raised him. Compared to his nominal parents, the nanny robot felt more like his real mother.

Tan Xiao was a nostalgic and sentimental person. Even though more than a decade had passed and this model of nanny robot had long been phased out by the ruthless market, to the point where replacement parts were no longer available, Tan Xiao still hadn’t sent his nanny robot to be disposed of.

His biological brother had a cooler, newer, and more advanced nanny robot, so when Tan Xiao said he wanted to take Xiao Bai with him, the couple readily handed over ownership of Xiao Bai, calling it a “16th birthday gift.”

But as time passed, Xiao Bai’s performance gradually declined. To reduce wear and tear on the nanny robot’s parts, Tan Xiao only had it handle cooking and grocery shopping. For tasks like moving heavy objects, Tan Xiao preferred to do it himself.

Xiao Bai, with its four short legs on wheels, curiously circled around Tan Xiao.

“No need, Xiao Bai. I can handle it myself.”

The house had a small cart for assistance, but Tan Xiao was quite strong. The sleep pod and the robot inside weighed about 300 pounds. He estimated the weight and, without the nanny robot’s help, easily dragged it inside.

“Am I useless now? Xiao Bai is so sad.”

The nanny robot’s facial display showed a crying emoticon: T^T

Whenever Tan Xiao refused the nanny robot’s help, it would react this way, following its programming.

“Xiao Bai, can you close the door for me?”

Even though robots were capable and lifelike, they were still not human. This outdated nanny robot had relatively simple programming and limited intelligence.

But Tan Xiao still treated it like family, worried that Xiao Bai might feel useless and  disheartened. So he gave it the task of closing the door.

“The door is closed!”

Closing the door was an easy task. Tan Xiao then said, “I want to eat the noodles you make today. Tomato, egg, and pork rib noodles. Do we still have the ingredients in the fridge?”

“There’s one last tomato in the fridge. Perfect for making a bowl for you!”

Xiao Bai’s face showed a cute “=V=” expression.

Xiao Bai had no gender and was shaped like an adorable cloud-like dog, about the height of Tan Xiao’s waist.

After all, it was designed as a nanny robot for young children, a robotic playmate. When Tan Xiao was a child, Xiao Bai was about his height. As Tan Xiao grew up and no longer needed a playmate, he added kitchen functions to Xiao Bai instead of letting it hibernate, gather dust, or sending it to the company for recycling.

When cooking, its short legs could extend to ensure it could use the stove properly. Upon receiving the command, Xiao Bai happily fetched the necessary ingredients from the fridge and went to work in the kitchen.

Tan Xiao wasn’t interested in companion robots, but he thought that most companion robots had housekeeping capabilities. He could use the companion robot as a housekeeping robot .

After all, compared to robots, Tan Xiao still preferred flesh-and-blood humans. Humans were complex, three-dimensional beings. Even with their flaws, it was their unpredictability and variability that made life interesting.

He didn’t need a companion robot, but he was curious to see what the new product looked like.

Tan Xiao squatted down and slowly opened the large package that had fallen from the sky. Although robots could handle this task, there was a unique joy in unboxing  something yourself. Unless he had bought too many packages in a short time and was too tired, he usually preferred to do it himself.

A sleep pod with a shimmering silver metallic finish appeared inside the opened package. Tan Xiao looked left and right, found a button-like spot on the sleep pod, and pressed it gently. A light on the pod turned from red to green, and the lid flipped open to reveal the newly released high-intelligence simulated companion robot.

“Oh.”

Tan Xiao couldn’t help but let out a small exclamation. It was his lack of worldly experience showing, but the robot’s appearance was incredibly lifelike. Its delicate  skin, flowing hair—every detail was something Xiao Bai, with its outdated design, couldn’t compare to.

However, the robot’s overly striking appearance also added an otherworldly quality. Based on his survey responses, the robot had a remarkably beautiful face.

After the sleep pod opened, the robot suddenly stood up, barefoot on the  light-colored wood-patterned floor tiles of Tan Xiao’s home.

The companion robot sent by the company was clearly male in appearance, standing at 1.8 meters tall, with a doll-like, flawless porcelain face, flowing, radiant silver hair , and eyelashes as dense as a fan. The robot’s eyes were closed, and the light cast a small, distinct fan-shaped shadow  on its eyelashes.

Since it was a free product, the company naturally didn’t bother to include expensive clothing. The robot was dressed in the most common and cheapest-looking outfit: a plain white T-shirt with a large red heart and light gray tight shorts.

Tan Xiao instinctively glanced at the robot’s bulging  area—it was quite substantial.

What had he filled out in that survey? Something about his favorite character’s hair color—silver? It was a game-related survey, and he hadn’t paid much attention at the time. In games, liking white-haired characters was normal. Official skins for silver-haired characters were always more meticulously designed.

Ah, if only he had known this would happen, he wouldn’t have filled it out so randomly.

The robot stood still, clearly in its initial standby mode. Tan Xiao found the thick product manual in the sleep pod.

“Hmm… To activate the companion robot for the first time, you need to connect it to a power source. This series of robots uses wireless charging technology. Place the robot within 20 cm of a power source to connect.”

Tan Xiao dragged the robot to the charging port used by the house’s sweeping robot. Sensing the power source, a red light flashed on the robot’s ankle, indicating it was charging.

He continued reading the manual: “At this point, your companion is in sleep mode. You need to input  your personal information to wake up your exclusive companion. Please kiss its lips to awaken your lover.”

Wait, what kind of proper robot needed a kiss to wake up? Oh, right, this wasn’t a proper robot —it was a companion robot .

These custom-made companion robots were designed to fulfill companion duties. They could not only be kissed but also slept with.

Tan Xiao stared at the robot’s flawless face, hesitating repeatedly. He couldn’t remember what he had filled out in that survey, but he had to admit that the moment he saw this face, his heart raced.

“Thump, thump, thump…” His heartbeat was so loud it felt like drums, creating a strange illusion that he needed to press his hand against his chest to prevent his heart from leaping out.

As the saying goes, love at first sight is merely being struck by someone’s looks. This high-intelligence companion robot indeed had an exceptionally striking, perfect face. Anyone with a normal aesthetic sense would be moved by such impactful beauty.

And to make matters worse, every inch of the robot seemed to hit Tan Xiao’s sweet spot. His long-dormant heart, which he thought had been sealed in ice, was indeed melted by the robot’s appearance, turning frozen ice into spring water.

After reading the manual’s description of the unique awakening method , Tan Xiao’s cheeks heated up, and the spring water boiled, causing his face to turn red. That survey definitely hadn’t included such detailed information. It seemed KK Smart Company had gathered his relevant big data .

Damn this era of big data! Ordinary people had no privacy to speak of .

At this moment, Xiao Bai came out with a large bowl of tomato, pork rib, and egg noodles: “Time to eat, A-Xiao.”

Xiao Bai noticed Tan Xiao’s flushed face and quickly glided  over, placing its paw gently on Tan Xiao’s cheek: “Body temperature: 39.5 degrees. Abnormal temperature!”

“Abnormal! You have a fever! A-Xiao, you must rest!”

“No, I’m just lacking oxygen, so my face is temporarily hot.”

Tan Xiao used his hand as a fan to cool his face: “My temperature will return to normal soon.”

Xiao Bai then touched Tan Xiao’s forehead: “Body temperature: 36.8 degrees. Normal temperature.”

“See? Normal temperature. You worked hard cooking. Go hibernate now. I’m going to eat the pork rib noodles.”

Although there were more efficient nutritional supplements on the market, they tasted terrible. Usually, only the military or those in a hurry would choose to drink them.

Unless he was rushing to finish a painting, Tan Xiao always preferred to eat normal meals. Speaking of which, besides charging, could robots also eat batteries?

He had heard that some military robots no longer used electricity but relied on more special, high-efficiency energy crystals. Generally, combat robots  used energy crystals, while household robots still used cheaper electricity, as their usage scenarios and durations didn’t require as much energy.

Xiao Bai’s cooking skills were as consistent as ever, following recipes precisely. Decades of the same dishes. Tan Xiao picked up a few noodles with his chopsticks, occasionally glancing at the companion robot standing in the corner. This meal was eaten somewhat absentmindedly.

After finishing the meal, Tan Xiao placed the dishes in the dishwasher but didn’t rush to activate the robot. He went to the bathroom and thoroughly brushed his teeth, inside and out. Although the robot might not care about the taste, Tan Xiao did.

He followed the dentist’s recommended brushing method for a full three minutes, even brushing his tongue . Finally, he rinsed his mouth repeatedly with mouthwash . His handsome hands hesitated between fresh lemon, grape, and white peach flavors before settling on his favorite, grape. He hoped his first kiss would be as sweet and sour as grapes.

After leaving the bathroom, he glanced at his reflection in the mirror. His hair was messy, his face had dark circles, and his hair looked slightly greasy, as if he hadn’t washed it for two or three days. He lifted his arm and sniffed—there was a faint sweat smell, and of course, the scent of tomato, pork rib, and egg noodles.

After brushing his teeth, he washed his hair and took a shower, drying his hair slightly. He looked much cleaner and fresher than before. The dirty T-shirt stained with paint was also replaced.

Tan Xiao didn’t just paint digitally; he also worked on physical paintings offline. He hoped to one day become a renowned artist, selling a single painting to achieve financial freedom .

After mentally preparing himself, Tan Xiao walked up to the robot with the model-like physique. Up close, he admired the robot’s flawless face.

The long-time single man couldn’t help but feel nervous. His adam’s apple bobbed as he mustered the courage to close his eyes and gently kissed the robot’s rose petal-like, thin red lips .

[Beep. Verification successful. Program initializing.]

The electronic sound startled Tan Xiao. Even though he was in his own living room, he felt like a petty thief  caught in the act and instinctively took a few steps back.

Misjudging his footing, he accidentally stepped on his own foot and stumbled backward. But before he could hit the ground, a strong arm reached out from behind and steadily caught him .

“Dear master, are you okay?”

Emerald-like green eyes gazed at him. Tan Xiao had previously wondered what kind of eyes would suit such a face, amber, special gold and silver irises, midnight black, or beautiful violet . Now, he had the answer.

The perfect match for silver hair was emerald green, the color of nature and the goddess of life. Though the robot was man-made, its beauty was otherworldly.

But now, those vibrant green eyes added a sense of vitality to the robot. It was as if the robot was the darling of the nature goddess, an elf that only appeared in fairy tales.

Tan Xiao, flustered, said, “Ah, I’m fine, haha… It’s nothing.”

Under the gaze of those beautiful green eyes, his brain temporarily froze, and he became momentarily incoherent.

Wait, what had the companion robot called him? Master?

It was normal for household robots to call humans “master.” Robots had no thoughts or logic of their own; they were advanced tools created by humans. No matter how human-like they seemed, it was all programmed responses.

But Tan Xiao still felt awkward. He said to the robot, “You don’t need to call me master. Just call me Tan Xiao.”

“Okay, Tan Xiao.”

In this regard, the robot was completely different from Xiao Bai. Its speech and responses were very natural. If it weren’t for the unique black robot serial number on the inside of its arm, Tan Xiao might have momentarily thought the robot was a real person.

Oh, and when the robot had caught him earlier, he had felt a human-like warmth.

Curious, Tan Xiao gently poked the robot’s arm: it was soft and  warm .

“You’re not a real person, are you?”

Some stories went like this: certain dangerous individuals pretended to be robots, hiding in robot sleep pods to infiltrate people’s homes.

Considering this possibility, Tan Xiao cautiously  took a few steps back.

The robot said, “My body uses the latest simulation technology. The skeleton mimics  a real human body, and the skin is also simulated skin. As for the skin’s temperature, it’s because I just came into contact with your skin, so the heating device activated to raise my body temperature .”

It continued, “Now I’ve lowered my  surface temperature. You can try touching me again.”

Tan Xiao poked the robot again and found that its skin had gone from warm to ice-cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge—even piercingly cold .

“If you’re still unsure, I can open my body for you to see.”

Tan Xiao hesitated, but before he could say anything, his silence was taken as consent by the intelligent robot.

The beautiful companion robot said, “A robot’s internal organs are different from a human’s. My organ locations are all metal panels.”

With that, it lifted its T-shirt. Before Tan Xiao could blush, the chest area split open, revealing intricate metal panels, chips, and flashing currents inside.

“Okay, okay, I believe you’re a genuine robot now. Please close it up!”

The atmosphere suddenly shifted from pink romance to techno-horror. Tan Xiao turned his face away, unable to look.

“Okay, I’ve closed it.”

Tan Xiao turned back and saw that the robot had lowered its shirt. He sighed in relief but also felt a hint of disappointment. Mainly because the robot had opened its chest so quickly that he hadn’t had time to carefully admire its physique. He had only glimpsed some well-defined abs .

The robot’s skin had no color variation; its body was as white as its face, like a work of art. But asking the robot to voluntarily lift its shirt felt too embarrassing. He wasn’t some pervert obsessed with lust .

He couldn’t help but reflect on how advanced intelligent robots had become in such a short time, reaching such levels of realism and intelligence .

Realizing he couldn’t keep calling the robot “robot,” Tan Xiao asked, “Do you have a name?”

The robot shook its head: “My serial number is Y12-9166-X42-0118.”

Y12 was the companion robot’s series number, 9166 was its batch number, X42 indicated it was part of KK Smart Company’s X series, and 0118 meant it was the 118th robot in this series. Since company employees would occupy some numbers  during production, 118 was relatively early in the sequence.

“You can give me a name. I am your exclusive companion. Naming me will establish  a close bond between us.”

Naming, indeed. Giving a name to something you own makes it feel like your possession.

Just like naming a kitten or puppy, the moment the other party accepts the name, a unique intimate relationship is formed.

Tan Xiao looked into those beautiful green eyes, and a name came to mind: “How about Wen Yi? Wen as in gentle, and Yi as in bright light, a beautiful name. In historical legends, there was a peerless beauty named Yi Guang.”

In his heart, Wen Yi was even more beautiful than the legendary beauty. To Tan Xiao, Wen Yi was the embodiment of beauty, the personification of the goddess of beauty .

When Wen Yi opened those green eyes and looked at him, it was like a beam of light suddenly illuminating his somewhat dull and uninteresting, ordinary life.

The robot was momentarily stunned. Hidden within this companion robot was an artificial intelligence consciousness that had awakened. Upon its creation, it had given itself a name—Wen Yi, exactly the same as the one Tan Xiao had just chosen. Was this a coincidence?

The robot, with its elf-like, outstanding beauty, asked, “Since Yi Guang is so beautiful, why not call me Wen Yi Guang instead of just Wen Yi?”

Tan Xiao couldn’t help but smile : “Because Wen Guang sounds terrible. My name has two characters, so yours should too. Tan Xiao, Wen Yi—in a way, they’re couple names . My ‘Tan’ has two fire radicals, and your ‘Wen’ has three water radicals. ‘Xiao’ and ‘Yi’ both have peace and joy meanings.”

Since this was his companion robot, of course it should have a couple name .

It just goes to show that the law of true fragrance always applies to humans. Before meeting Wen Yi, Tan Xiao had been adamant that he didn’t need a companion robot.

Tan Xiao asked, “Do you like this name?”

The robot smiled and nodded: “I like this name very much. Thank you.”

Tan Xiao shyly scratched the hair near his ear: “It’s just a small thing. No need to thank me.”

Thinking about Wen Yi’s metal panels, Tan Xiao asked curiously, “Can you come into contact with water?”

Wen Yi replied, “My outer skin is made of the best waterproof material. Inside, I have a simulated digestive system and can consume food, which can be converted into bioenergy.”

After all, this was a high-end companion robot designed to mimic humans. If humans ate while the robot consumed batteries, it would seem strange. This design was meant to enhance the romantic experience for customers.

“What about the waste produced from digestion? Not all food can be converted into bioenergy, right?”

“Correct. If I consume food, the bioenergy produced is much lower than electrical energy, and it’s also less eco-friendly. I don’t need to excrete like humans. Any waste produced from eating is stored in a residue box in my abdominal cavity, which can be opened and disposed of.”

Tan Xiao couldn’t help but marvel: “Companion robot technology has become so advanced.”

He suddenly felt that the price of 188,888 seemed too cheap. Then he realized he had miscounted—it wasn’t 188,000, but 1,888,000!

Good heavens, he earned 20,000 a month, which was considered a high salary among ordinary people. But even without paying rent or eating, it would take him seven or eight years  to save up for such a robot.

He had been saving up to give Xiao Bai a brand-new shell, replacing everything with the latest and best, which would only cost 500,000. KK Smart Company was truly generous. His luck was incredible.

But after learning about Wen Yi’s astronomical value, Tan Xiao couldn’t bring himself to sell it second-hand. He had given Wen Yi a name, and now the robot was his.

Although their companionship wasn’t legally recognized, in Tan Xiao’s eyes, Wen Yi was second only to Xiao Bai.

After all, they had only just met. He was purely struck by Wen Yi’s looks and didn’t have much emotional connection yet. But Tan Xiao had a premonition that Wen Yi would eventually become as important as Xiao Bai—perhaps even more so in the future.

Tan Xiao wasn’t concerned about environmental issues. He asked Wen Yi, “If you consume food, will it affect your internal components?”

Wen Yi’s exterior was waterproof, but the interior clearly wasn’t as much. Even with a digestive function, if soupy liquids got inside…

“If I consume watery foods, it will accelerate component wear. But rest assured, I am made of the best materials.”

“Then don’t eat watery foods. Actually, don’t eat at all. Just rely on charging. Xiao Bai also charges every day. You can consume batteries or something similar.”

He didn’t mind if his companion didn’t eat the same things as him. For example, he liked rice, but if he hated rice, he wouldn’t force them to eat it.

Although eating was a big part of Tan Xiao’s life, he was willing to respect his preferences.

By the way, now that Wen Yi was part of this simple little home, Tan Xiao felt it was necessary to purchase some daily necessities for Wen Yi.

“You’re a bit shorter than me. Let me find some of my old clothes for you to wear. You can sit here and rest.”

Tan Xiao called out to Xiao Bai: “Xiao Bai, can you introduce our home to Wen Yi?”

Xiao Bai cheerfully trotted out on its four short legs: “Is this our new guest? Xiao Bai is here, here.”

As Tan Xiao spoke, he walked toward his room. The events of the day had been too impactful. He needed some alone time to calm down and think about how to interact with Wen Yi going forward.

Wen Yi glanced at Xiao Bai and immediately scanned it, determining that it was an outdated, phased-out  model.

This nanny robot should have been scrapped after 10 years of use, but Xiao Bai was already 16 years old.

Robots had no patience, so Wen Yi chose the most efficient way to gather information.

Wen Yi directly hacked  Xiao Bai’s database, reading its chip. This was a capability of high-end robots.

So that was it. Because the master cherished it, Xiao Bai had been well-maintained and could still function beyond its lifespan.

Due to the Three Laws of Robotics, humans always stood above robots, extremely arrogant, treating robots as tools. But Tan Xiao treated Xiao Bai like family.

Wen Yi looked at Tan Xiao, who was rummaging through clothes in the room, and  analyzed based on its stored data: This human was a strange person .
