Bloody Hospital (2): Devil

“Everyone, my name is Li Hai. I have stomach cancer. In the last days of my life, it is fate that we meet. If I have affected you in any way, please forgive me.”

Li Hai’s self-introduction attracted the attention of the other three patients in the ward.

After hearing this, Cheng Huaiqian couldn’t help but complain in the heart net:

“Why is this hospital so careless? Xiao Xuan is diagnosed with coronary heart disease, so he should be in the cardiology department. Why is he in the same ward with two cancer patients and a genetic disease patient?”

He responded to Li Hai’s greeting politely: “I came in with lung cancer. To die at such a young age. I still feel unwilling to accept it.”

As long as this hospital was not a hospice hospital, it was always right for him, as a seriously ill patient, to show some desire to survive.

Li Hai looked at Cheng Huaiqian’s young and handsome face, and then at the even younger faces of the other two patients on the beds, and felt a sense of empathy. The four people in this ward are all relatively young. They had not enjoyed the beauty of life for long before they had to leave this world. Who could be truly willing to accept this?

Li Hai, who felt the same way, said excitedly, “Yeah, I’m not willing to give up either. I thought, instead of waiting helplessly for death, I might as well try this ‘devil’s hospital’. There’s at least a 25% chance of survival. I can’t forgive myself if I don’t take this chance.”

This time, Xia Ruize, who was pretending to be asleep, and Gao Hexuan, who was really daydreaming, both turned their attention to Li Hai. It sounded like this Li Hai was a native of the mission world. At least, this adjective “devil’s hospital” was the first time they heard it.

Xia Ruize joined the conversation next, and together with Cheng Huaiqian, they indirectly obtained a lot of background information about the mission world from Li Hai, especially information related to the hospital they were currently in.

In the medical field of this mission world, there was a hospital called Aardman, which was also called the “Devil’s Hospital” by insiders. Even so, for a certain group of people, the qualification to enter the Devil’s Hospital was still their dream.

Because Aardman Hospital specialized in accepting terminally ill patients who are judged to have no hope of treatment by other hospitals, the amazing thing was that after being treated at Aardman Hospital, there was a one-fourth chance that terminally ill patients who had been sentenced to death by major hospitals could recover and be discharged. As for the remaining three-quarters, they would naturally die.

Therefore, even though Aardman Hospital charged high medical fees and there was a high probability that patients would never be discharged from the hospital, for terminally ill patients whose lives were already in the countdown, a 25% cure rate was enough for them to be desperate and gamble their lives and property.

“Although this hospital has a lot of rules, family members cannot accompany the patient and the body will not be given to the family after death, but I have no other choice. Other hospitals have already recommended that I choose euthanasia.”

Li Hai talked a lot in front of Xia Ruize and Cheng Huaiqian who were in the same situation as him. Perhaps it was because they were the same people who chose to leave their lives to the decision of the “devil” and they sympathize with each other.

Xia Ruize and Cheng Huaiqian looked at each other, with only one thought in their minds: there was something fishy in this hospital!
