Major General Alpha (10): All their actions were broadcast live!

Gu Juntian liked adventure and battle, but he also valued his life.

Especially this time, going to the deserted planet to fight high-level Zergs, with Zhou Qinghao there.

No matter what, he could not let Zhou Qinghao have an accident.

For the next half month, Gu Juntian was very busy every day.

First, he created a small group chat and pulled in the five S-level elders of the 5  A-level Alphas.

Even among S-level Alphas, there were differences in strength.

For example, Weir, who had served under the original owner, had stronger combat ability than the original owner, but alone, he could not kill a high-level Zerg.

The five S-level powerhouses Gu Juntian pulled into the group all had experience killing high-level Zergs single-handedly. Among all S-levels, their strength was top-tier.

And they weren’t just strong!

These five S-level Alphas had great charisma and were skilled commanders. They were natural leaders, thriving in the military, loved by their subordinates, and held real military power.

Alphas all had a bit of an ego. The original owner had met these people before, but they had never taken him seriously.

Now there was only half a month left, and they were not even in the same location. Gu Juntian knew there was no way to win them over in such a short time.

But that didn’t matter — as long as they had a common enemy.

Right away, Gu Juntian dropped a bombshell in the group chat: “I’ve discovered that the Second Prince is colluding with the Zerg queen!”

Because their relatives had praised Gu Juntian, these five had already started to view him a little better, but they still didn’t take him too seriously.

The lowest-ranking among them was a major general, not as high in rank as Gu Juntian, but he was about the same age and felt he was no worse than Gu Juntian.

They also didn’t really get along with each other.

In short, at first, they were like a pile of loose sand, not very willing to listen to Gu Juntian.

But when he opened with that statement, they were shocked, united against a common foe, and became tightly aligned.

“Major General Gu, are you sure?”

“You can’t say things like that carelessly!”

“The Second Prince dares to betray humanity?”

Gu Juntian didn’t hold back. He directly sent them the video of his advisor saying there were Zergs on the deserted planet. “This advisor of mine works for the Second Prince. He’s been trying to stir up trouble between me and Zhou Qinghao. I went along with it and pretended to have a bad relationship with Zhou Qinghao, and he fell for it, telling me there was a high-level Zerg on a deserted planet and asking me to lure Zhou Qinghao there,” Gu Juntian said. “Before this, the Zerg queen sent four high-level Zergs to deal with Zhou Qinghao. There’s something suspicious about that too…”

Gu Juntian had no concrete evidence that the Second Prince was colluding with the high-level Zergs.

But so what if he didn’t? He could make it up!

“Zhou Qinghao is very strong. The Zerg queen probably sensed his threat and teamed up with my dear younger brother to try to kill him!” Gu Juntian made up the story with complete conviction, as if it were true.

The Zergs and the Human Empire had been fighting for many years.

For reasons unknown, the Zerg queen had fixated on the Human Empire and kept clashing with them.

Over the years, the Human Empire had lost some planets. Some of the humans living on those planets fled; others were eaten by the Zergs.

Countless soldiers had died on the battlefield.

The hatred between the Human Empire and the Zergs ran deep.

These S-level powerhouses hated the Zergs to their core.

Now that the Second Prince was allegedly colluding with the Zerg queen, they wanted nothing more than to kill him. And upon learning that there were at least four high-level Zergs on that deserted planet, they were even more eager to act.

Gu Juntian said, “This information is not confirmed. It could be a ploy to lure us away, so we should secure our own garrisons first, then decide who will go to that deserted planet. Everyone, to avoid leaks, we can’t let too many people know about this.”

After discussing with them in secret, all five S-level Alphas decided to go to that deserted planet to see the situation for themselves.

The Crown Prince probably wouldn’t harm them, and even if he did, they would bring their best mechs and starships, so escaping would be no problem.

After agreeing on a plan with these people, Gu Juntian resumed his training.

Every day, he trained himself until he was covered in injuries. Afterwards, he would call that advisor and deliberately show his battered state.

He wanted to get more information out of him.

But the advisor was too clever, and Gu Juntian didn’t get much useful intelligence.

In the blink of an eye, half a month passed.

During this time, Zhou Qinghao was promoted to Lieutenant general, becoming, alongside Gu Juntian, the youngest Lieutenant general in the empire.

At Gu Juntian’s suggestion, the video of Zhou Qinghao fighting high-level Zergs was posted on the StarNet.

Gu Juntian had people upload the footage of Zhou Qinghao single-handedly battling two high-level Zergs and later killing one of them.

As soon as the video was posted, the public was thrilled.

“Major General Zhou—no, Lieutenant General Zhou—is amazing!”

“I’ve heard he’s a super S-level powerhouse, but I didn’t know he was this strong!”

“Lieutenant Zhou is my idol! Aaaah!”

“He’s a hero!”

Gu Juntian saw all the excitement online.

The public’s emotions were so easy to steer.

In the original storyline, under the deliberate manipulation of the original owner’s people, Zhou Qinghao had been scolded mercilessly.

This way was much better. Zhou Qinghao should be praised by everyone.

Thinking this, Gu Juntian had people upload some of Zhou Qinghao’s past battle footage as well.

The original owner, to steal Zhou Qinghao’s military merits, had never allowed these videos to appear online.

The First Legion should have promoted Zhou Qinghao heavily, but because of the original owner, there had been little publicity about him.

Now, for the first time, the public realized how strong Zhou Qinghao was.

“My god, Lieutenant General Zhou is this strong?”

“I never knew!”

“How come I’ve never seen these battle videos before?”

Gu Juntian spared no effort in promoting Zhou Qinghao and found the results to be exceptional, as if aided by fate.

It was like he had only done three parts of the work, but got nine parts of the effect.

Good — he knew Zhou Qinghao was the best and would surely be popular.

Gu Juntian was too busy to pay it much more attention, but the Second Prince was baffled.

They had planned to give Zhou Qinghao a wave of positive publicity before Gu Juntian killed him.

When public affection for Zhou Qinghao reached its peak, Gu Juntian killing him would make Gu Juntian the most hated person in the empire.

But somehow, with only a little effort on their part, Zhou Qinghao had already become famous.

What was going on?

They investigated and discovered that someone else had been posting Zhou Qinghao’s battle footage and promoting him.

Tracing the source… the IP address was from Zhou Qinghao’s own garrison.

Zhou Qinghao was promoting himself!

Clearly, Zhou Qinghao was no longer content to remain in Gu Juntian’s shadow.

After learning that Gu Juntian didn’t love him and loved someone else, Zhou Qinghao had turned dark!

The Second Prince watched the footage again of Gu Juntian, battered and injured, discussing matters with his advisor over the past days, and felt a surge of satisfaction.

His dear older brother had been tormented by Zhou Qinghao recently, and he found it delightful!

Finally, the day came for Gu Juntian to “trick” Zhou Qinghao into going to the deserted planet.

The day before, Gu Juntian deliberately stopped training and rested well, so his condition that day was excellent.

Thinking about going into battle with Zhou Qinghao put him in a good mood, and he even put on a new set of clothes.

Early in the morning, Gu Juntian urged Zhou Qinghao onto the starship.

At the same time, upon receiving the news, the Second Prince and his people were excited.

Gu Juntian and the others had set out!

Their plan could now be carried out!

They would livestream the scene of Gu Juntian murdering Zhou Qinghao!

As for how… they had placed some extremely high-quality livestream cameras on that deserted planet.

They had also arranged for surveillance devices to be installed in Gu Juntian’s mech during its manufacture.

Zhou Qinghao was taking Gu Juntian’s backup mech, which meant it too had surveillance installed.

This was new technology from the Royal Research Institute, and the two of them would not detect it.

There was no signal on the deserted planet, so they would have no idea that everything they did was being broadcast live!
